During the 24 Speed competition, W&M participants are assigned a genre, prop, and line of dialogue that must be incorporated into the creation of a short film. Teams of current students and alumni race against the clock to deliver their films in under 24 hours, with awards going to the top films as judged by a jury of W&M faculty and community members.
The 2019 contest will kick off on Friday, January 25 at 5:30 PM in the Reeder Media Center. To sign up, current students and alumni should visit the main 24 Speed website to read up on the rules and register their team.
New for 2019: this year’s 24 Speed films will be screened in two events, one for the shorts created by teams of current students, and another for those created by W&M alumni. Both of these screenings are free and unticketed. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
