Submit Your Film

The 2020 W&M Global Film Festival is currently accepting submissions for feature films with connections to W&M alumni, faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, the festival has hosted many alumni guests working throughout the entertainment industry.

Recent feature films screenings from W&M filmmakers include:

Submit A Workshop

The W&M Global Film Festival includes free workshops as hosted by W&M alumni and additional special guests working in the entertainment industry.

Recent alumni workshop presenters include:

Workshops for 2020 will be booked in the fall and winter of 2019. If you are an alumni working in the entertainment industry and are interested in getting involved, drop us a line!


Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the William & Mary Global Film Festival! Volunteers are an essential part of making the festival a success and we appreciate your support. Please read the description below of volunteer responsibilities, requirements, and perks.


Volunteers must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Attend the Volunteer Orientation Session in January 2020 held prior to the festival weekend.
  • Wear their volunteer badge at all times during their shift.
  • Observe all policies and procedures outlined in the Volunteer Code of Conduct
  • Work at least two shifts during the festival.


Duties for volunteers based in the Kimball Theatre may include:

  • Passing out programs
  • Staffing the Will Call table
  • Managing the rush line
  • Tearing tickets
  • Ushering guests to their seats
  • Answering questions
  • Assisting with theater set-up and cleanup

Duties for volunteers based in Tucker Theater may include:

  • Passing out programs
  • Answering questions
  • Introducing the filmmakers
  • Assisting with theater set-up and cleanup
Duties for volunteers assisting with workshops may include:
  • Checking in attendees
  • Assisting with set-up and cleanup
  • Answering questions
  • Managing the standby line for workshops that are at capacity


Volunteers will receive the following perks:

  • Free festival merch
  • One free ticket to a festival screening for each completed shift
  • Pizza at the volunteer orientation
  • Snacks during volunteer shifts
