The 2019 GFF will feature a fundraising raffle, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting future festival programming.
The grand prize for the 2019 raffle is a sculpture by Christina Fleckenstein ’18, a recent graduate of the College and the Triangle Arts & Culture League Resident Artist for 2017-2018. This sculpture is a prototype for Christina’s work Dawn, a bronze sculpture created in commemoration of the 100 Years of Women anniversary, and acquired by the President’s Collection of Art at the College. This sculpture is smaller in size while retaining the distinct shape of the final work, symbolizing the actions of the first female students to step onto the W&M campus in 1918. This work of art has been donated to the raffle by the Triangle Arts & Culture League (TACL). More information on the sculpture, including details on the creation process, are available at the TACL website.
Additional raffle prizes will include gifts inspired by 2019 festival Special Guests, and festival merch.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase in the lobby of the Kimball Theatre throughout the festival weekend, with the prize drawing taking place during the Silent Film Showcase on Sunday, February 3. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
Tickets will cost $5 for one ticket, $20 for 5 tickets, or $50 for 20 tickets.
