There are three airports convenient to Williamsburg: Richmond International Airport (RIC), Norfolk International Airport (ORF) and Newport News/Williamsburg Airport (PHF). Richmond and Norfolk are each approximately one hour from Williamsburg by car, and the drive from Newport News takes 40 minutes. The tunnel between Norfolk and Williamsburg can cause traffic delays, especially during rush hour.

Amtrak train service is available to Williamsburg. Rail travel can be especially convenient for travelers from New York, Philadelphia or Washington, D.C. Check Amtrak’s website for rates and availability.

The William & Mary Global Film Festival is committed to equal opportunity for persons with disabilities and complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

All screening and event venues are accessible via ramp or elevators, offer wheelchair areas for viewing performances, and have accessible restrooms.

All film screenings for the GFF take place at the Kimball Theatre in Merchants Square and Tucker Theater on the campus of The College of William & Mary. The Kimball Theatre offers hearing amplification devices, Tucker Theater does not. As these two venues are not classified as “movie theaters” under Title III of the ADA, these theaters are not currently required to provide closed movie captioning and audio description services. Additionally, closed captioning and audio description are produced at the discretion of the filmmaker and as a result may not be available for all films.

To request an ASL interpreter for a panel event or Q&A, please email the festival at least two weeks prior to the event. We will make every effort to accommodate the request but ASL interpreting services cannot be guaranteed.

The W&M Global Film Festival is a non-profit event. All ticket sale revenue and sponsorships from local organizations and businesses go directly towards programming costs. Donations help make free programming possible and keep ticket prices low. Thank you for helping bring diverse, international art and live performances to our community. If you would like to support the festival please follow this link and click on Tickets to make a donation.
