HOW DOES THE VIRTUAL FESTIVAL WORK?
The GFF virtual festival is being hosted on Eventive, a secure digital platform designed to bring the festival experience online. After purchasing a single virtual pass, you’ll have access to all films throughout the four days of the festival (March 25-28). Purchase a pass here.
WHAT FILMS ARE AVAILABLE?
The full catalog of virtual festival films is available here!
HOW DO I WATCH THE FILMS?
You can watch the films on a computer, a computer connected to a TV via HDMI, AirPlay, or Chromecast, or through dedicated apps for Apple TV, Fire TV, and Roku. A full list of options for viewing are available on the Eventive site.
CAN I BUY INDIVIDUAL TICKETS TO FILMS?
Individual film tickets are not available for purchase.
ARE THERE LIMITS ON VIEWING AVAILABILITY FOR SOME FILMS?
Glad you asked! Yes – there are some unique screening restrictions for some of our films. When planning your online festival, you’ll want to take into account the following:
Tickets & Viewing Windows
Each pass grants you a single ticket to each film. Once you redeem a ticket for a movie, you’ll have four hours to press play and start watching it, and after you start watching it you’ll have four hours to complete the film before you lose access to it (convenient for bathroom breaks and “what-just-happened” rewind moments!). Additionally, most films are available for the full four days of the festival. The following exceptions are available for viewing only for 48 hours, March 26-27: Dear Comrades!, and Night of the Kings.
Selling Out
Just like at an in-person film festival, these films can sell out! Some films have a limited number of tickets attached, and will sell out if all tickets are redeemed. We’ll add updates to individual film pages if tickets are running low, but you may want to plan on checking out your top must-see films first!
Geographic Restrictions
Some screenings include geoblocking to restrict viewership to certain geographic areas. Geoblocking information is included on each film’s individual event page. All virtual films are available to screen online throughout the United States with the exception of Misha and the Wolves, Strawberry Mansion, and Underplayed, which are limited to the state of Virginia.
….and that’s how you virtual fest! So check out the lineup, purchase your festival pass, and we’ll see you online for the 2021 GFF!
